Connor & Co. Wedding Careers
Who are we looking for?
Fun loving people with a passion for loving on couples getting married! We are basically a production company for weddings and events. We want go getters that are interested in the industry but may not have the resources or knowledge to get going. We have spent a ton of time and money putting together a process that almost anyone with the right innate skills can take and plan a wedding with, we specialize in what I like to call new fashion events. This isn’t your momma’s wedding or event. We have couples from every background, religion, sexual orientation and location and believe that it is our jobs to give them the tools and back up to plan the event of their dreams!
I don’t have experience but am willing to learn!
Yass! We don’t need people that know it all, we need people that have a kick butt work ethic and are ready to take their knowledge and skills to the next level.
How many events do you do a year?
On average we try to keep our planners at about 20-25 weddings a year but with multiple planners if you aren’t a lead planner one day you can definitely assist.
On average how long does it take to move up from assistant to planner?
Depends on you and your drive. If you are dead set to learn how to be a planner, let’s teach you how to be a planner. If you are in a 9-5 job and just want to stick your toe in first let’s do it!
What is your process for hiring?
To be candid we like to see your resume and have a quick maybe 30 minute in person meeting to see if you fit with our culture. If we feel like you would be a great fit we try to find a few hour block at an event you can shadow/assist with Kelsey so we can see what level you are at and if you even enjoy being in this crazy life (i.e. assistant, lead planner, designer etc). We believe everyone has their own skill set and we want to put you in the perfect position. Connor & Co. has grown exponentially over the past few years and we don’t see that stopping anytime soon. Once we see how well you do we will discuss pay. If you are a lead planner you receive a commission based pay, if you are an assistant it is hourly and depends on your skill level.
I don’t think I can be a planner but tell me about the design aspects!
We do IT ALL, Kelsey’s has a little bit of background in everything. If designing makes your heart happy, let’s build on it. We mainly do floral and balloon design. But we love it all!
We love hearing from lovely humans that want to join our team! Are you the next Connor & Co. wedding planner or florist?
If you think you’d be a good fit for our Memphis based wedding planning team, then please reach out. We are always open to chatting about our wedding planner jobs and assistant positions with the right person.

If you haven’t checked out our team page it definitely gives you a little insight into our team. Kelsey began this as a newly married event enthusiast. And dear sweet baby Jesus, no one would respond to this crazy child with a dream. (Kelsey is writing this btw, she loves talking in 3rd person.) So what did she do, if she cant find what she wants she made it herself!
I literally think I watched any free webinar I could find, I went to every networking event I could sneak into or beg for an invite. I finally got a smidgen of money to pay for a few real courses. And LIFE CHANGED. I have probably taken 3-4 courses a year, and I swear everyone does it different and it drove me crazy. WHY CAN’T THERE BE SOMETHING STANDARD.
There had to be a way to scale this and build on it. I used to work for Keller Williams and they had a cool system to build up a real estate empire, why can’t I do that with wedding planning?
So here we are, I will always and forever keep learning, keep building and keep striving to grow into the best wedding planning business I can make, if you’re willing to hop onto this crazy train with me let’s do this!
