7 Ways to Keep your Floral Budget in Check

1. Limit Your Pricey Favorites

You don’t have to have peonies and calla lilies in every arrangement. Keep it to just your bouquet or a focal arrangement.

2. Mix & Match Centerpieces

An easy way to trim down the budget is to not have large flowers on every table. Mix them with candle centerpieces, smaller floral arrangements or fun design centerpieces.

3. Be Open To Ideas

Your florist or planner has done a ton of weddings and has seen every budget imaginable. Be open to what they can do for you and flowers you might like. You never know where it might lead!

4. Reuse Arrangements

If you have a large arrangement in the foyer of your ceremony, have it moved to the reception. Get pretty vases that the bridesmaids bouquets can go in around the reception area such as the bar, cake table, food table etc. (I try not to make them centerpieces only because you can’t get a full picture of the space when half of the tables are empty and that’s what the guests would see when they enter).

5. Be Unique

Some of my favorite arrangements are very small and artistic where the vase is the show stopper. I’ve used nerdy tiki cups, tea pots, votive holders, cute mugs, etc. - the sky is the limit. These are smaller but catch your eye. The are cost effective and go great paired with candles, little signs, etc.

6. Keep Then Potted

One of my favorite things to do is use potted plants. They make great gifts after the wedding! Succulents and small flowers are perfect take aways! You can also keep them and have them for yourself to remind you of your big day!

7. Limit Your DIY

We all know shopping at Hobby Lobby or Michaels is going to end up in you buying way more than you ever needed. Then, after your wedding you’re dragging home 15 signs, a three tiered cupcake stand, 15 vases, and a 10 foot mirrored seating chart. Buy a few nice pieces that you feel like you’ll be able to use in your home and rent the rest! It’s cheaper to rent decor and let’s be real, you’re going to attempt to sell it or it’s going to sit on your shelf for two years before you throw it away.
